Barcelona Femeni of Spain attacker, Asisat Oshoala is expected to be a part of history this week, when her side line out for what is expected to draw a record crowd attendance.
Megasportsarena.com reports that ‘Super Zee’ and her colleagues appear to be on the threshold of history ahead of their clash with Real Madrid Ladies, as both sides are riding high at the moment.
With that perspective in mind, all match forecasts are hinting at Oshoala et al getting into the spotlight, as they head out for their next continental fixture.
The match will be on March 30 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals, with tickets already sold out in all sections, except for certain VIP areas of the 99,354-capacity stadium, where the attendance is set to break the 60,739 record for a club fixture.
That would be a milestone mark for a women’s club football match and Oshoala’s club confirmed to Sky Sports News that there are no more tickets available for the encounter billed to hold at Nou Camp on March 30.
Regardless, the attendance is set to break the 60,739 record for a club match previously set at the Wanda Metropolitano when Oshoala’s side beat Atletico Madrid Femenino there in March 2019.
That game beat a previous record which had stood for almost 100 years, when Dick, Kerr Ladies against St Helens Ladies pulled a 53,000 crowd in at Goodison Park on Boxing Day in 1920.
It will also be the first time Barca Femeni will play at the Nou Camp in front of supporters, after playing their first match there behind-closed-doors last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
