Barcelona Femeni of Spain attacker, Asisat Oshoala has thanked her teammates for supporting her with the spirit of togetherness, which she revealed helped her net another brace of goals last weekend in the Spanish Women’s Iberdola Liga, and she has now struck in a run of five staright matches with The Female Catalans.
Megasportsarena.com reports that Oshoala, who first joined Barca on loan from Dalian Quanjian of China in January 2019, before turning it into a full contract last summer, continued her purple patch with another outstanding performance for La Blaugranes, as they trounced Sporting de Huelva 7-1.
‘Super Zee’ was at most resounding best in the game at Estadi Johan Cruyff (Sant Joan Despí) on Sunday evening, with breathtaking power and speed helping her net twice against the visitors, but she took to social media soon after to praise great team effort from her colleagues.
That was after the former FC Robo Queens of Lagos, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt as well as ex-Arsenal and Liverpool Ladies of England striker made an impact after replacing Alexia Putellas in the 77th minute, after which she went on to score two late goals, in the 88th and 91st minutes.
Oshoala has now hit bull’s eye in five consecutive matches for Barca in all competitions, having previously netted against Sevilla, Atlético Madrid, Real Sociedad and Sporting de Huelva, thereby equaling her best scoring run in five consecutive games, which she did from September 29 to October 26 last year.
The four-time African Women Footballer of The Year racked up six goals during her last scoring run, which she has bettered in her current scoring streak of eight goals from five games, with the latest two coming on Sunday against Sporting de Huelva.
The dark-skinned lass from Ikorodu, Lagos State made it 6-0 for her side with a brilliant shot from the edge of the box, then wrapped up the scoring with a close range effort in stoppage time, after which she now turns her focus on the chance to set a new personal best scoring streak in this coming Sunday’s match away to Logroño.
Oshoala, who has now scored 23 goals in all competitions so far this season for Barca, posted: “Another day at the office , great team work again …. we keep going 💪🏾 VAMOSS @FCBfemeni.”
