Celtic defender Osaze Urhoghide is already getting back down to work as he looked to practice his technique ahead of pre-season, Megasportsarena.com reports.
Urhoghide spent the second half of last term on loan at KV Oostende with the Belgian club having an option to buy. However, nothing has as of yet come of it with Oostende previously stating they can’t afford the player.
And as he prepares to return to pre-season at Lennoxtown in the coming weeks, Urhoghide has already been getting down to work in the off-season.
The player has been working closely with expert technical trainers The Academy Player, who posted a flurry of videos on their Instagram story of Osaze doing some high intensity technical drills:
The organisation have put out several videos of Osaze training at a high-intensity level and doing plenty of ball work.
It comes with the player looking to make a big impact this season after arriving last summer from Sheffield Wednesday. Urhoghide has already claimed that Ange Postecoglou has told him he still has a big future in Glasgow.
The Nigerian youngster made his Celtic debut back in December against Real Betis – a performance that impressed many in the support.
For some reason there appears to be plenty of speculation this week surrounding whether he’ll stay or go. But the truth is that he deserves a chance to come back to Lennoxtown and show what he’s learned from his time in Belgium.
Let’s not forget he ended up becoming a constant in the starting XI in the final weeks with Oostende. He ended the campaign with 6 consecutive 90-minute appearances – operating in a centre-back role.
It remains to be seen whether Ange believes him to be more of a right-back or centre-back. That hasn’t been made particularly clear. But Urhoghide can do both, and that’s something that reflects well on him.
