Galatasaray of Turkey attacker, Henry Onyekuru has promised to give 100% effort with the Super Eagles at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, as he wants the team to return home with the trophy.
The crafty winger-cum-striker, who is on loan from Everton of England, said Nigeria’s current squad have great potentials to win the country’s fourth AFCON title, as the array of young talents are boosted by some experienced players showing the way to go and inspiring them for glory.
Onyekuru stated further during a chat on Mega Sports’ programme on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos that the onus on him and his colleagues now is to rise up to the occasion, starting from June 22 against Burundi, as they need to hit the ground running and show their champions’ ambitions.
He added that he is delighted with his inclusion in Nigeria’s final squad of 23 for the fast-approaching continental soccer showpiece in The Land of The Pharaohs, whee he believes the Eagles will emerge tops of all.
Onyekuru added: “I am grateful to be part of this team of young players with a lot of motivation come from the experienced ones with us.
“I am ready to give my 100% effort to make Nigeria win the Nations Cup in Egypt. Hopefully, we’ll come back to Nigeria with the trophy.”
