Racing Genk of Belgium striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu has been rated top among the array of Nigerian players plying their trade in Europe, after he fired home a scored a hat-trick in his side’s 5-0 victory over KAS Eupen on Sunday.
Megasportsarena.com reports that Onuachu’s latest feat in the Belgian topflight took his haul to 19 goals this season, as he netted penalties in the 11th and 45th minutes before rounding off with a third sizzler on 79 minutes.
The win ended Genk’s run of two defeats and one draw in their last three matches, with lots of accolades going out for Onuachu, despite him being replaced nine minutes to full time.
Also in Belgium last weekend, former Enyimba of Aba defender, Valentine Ozornwafor was in action for Sporting Charleroi, but his side suffered a 4-0 loss to RSC Anderlecht.
Ozornwafor was in action for 90 minutes, thereby taking personal log to 11 matches that he has started 11 from 12 played by his club this season, but Nigerian-born Netherlands youth international, Joshua Zirkee got one of the goals for Anderlecht.
In Israel, Onoriede Marshal stumbled with Bnei Sakhnin in a 2-1 loss away to Hapoel Tel Aviv on Saturday and he could not add to his single goal so far from seven league games this season.
In Saudi Arabia, Odion Jude Ighalo scored a winning goal in extra time for Al Hilal and helped them get a 2-1 against his former club, Al Shabab to qualify for the King’s Cup final.
In Turkey, Olarenwaju Kayode was in action for Sivasspor and got one of their goals in their Turkish Super Lig 2-2 draw with Giresunspor, thereby taking his haul to six in the current campaign and eighth in all competitions.
In The Netherlands, Emil Maduka Okoye was in impressive form for Sparta Rotterdam, but could not maintain a clean sheet in their 1-1 draw with SC Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie.
