Arsenal youth team goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo is again facing a deep dilemma of choice, with his professed allegiance to Nigeria now bound to be tested all the way to the limit, as he has been recalled to England’s under-18 national side.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that Okonkwo has not been formally approached by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and now stands to commit himself to his country of birth, as he has been recalled to the England U18 squad for an eight-team tournament in Slovakia this month.
Okonkwo will report for international duty on the back of a fine season for The Gunners, during which he even trained with the first team and got three clean sheets in the last four English Premier League 2 games.
The youngster, who has over ten appearances for England in friendly matches, will now seek action for U18s against Russia on Monday as well as Slovakia on Tuesday and Mexico on Thursday, May 23.
Okonkwo will be joined in Neil Dewsnip’s 22-player team by Nigerian-born defender, Ajibola Alese from West Ham United and youthful right-back, Nathaniel Ogbeta from Manchester City.
