Red Star Belgrade of Serbia’s Nigerian-born attacker, Ohi Omoijuanfo has boasted that he and his teammates will get the better of Joe Aribo, Leon Aderemi Balogun and Calvin Bassey Ughelumba in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League fixture.

Megasportsarena.com reports that, heading into the away fixture for his side, Omoijuanfo added that the visitors from Belgrade would also be able to handle The Gers’ hitman, Alfredo Morelos in the round of 16 first leg fixture at Ibrox Stadium.

Omoijuanfo, who has picked up where he left off in 2021, with four goals in his first six appearances, added that every player in Rangers’ line-up will be marked closely during the game.

The Oslo-born striker, who was only recently added to Red Star’s Europa League roster, is trying to meet up to his heroic form before his arrival in Belgrade, as he hit 27 goals in his final season at Molde of Norway.

That saw him win the Norwegian Eliteserien top goals scorer’s award before moving to Red Star in January 2022 and he has helped his side win their last five games in the Serbian Super Liga.

He has now declared that he and his teammates from the Belgrade-based side are in Scotland full of confidence, despite the fact that Aribo, Balogun and Bassey’s side defeated Borussia Dortmund of Germany to reach this stage.

Omoijuanfo told allnigeriasoccer.com: “I think it will be a difficult game (but) I always believe that we can win no matter the opponents.

“In football anything can happen but, obviously, we have to be at our best to manage that.

“Rangers is a good team with good individual players who can win the game for them.

“They managed to beat Borussia Dortmund in the previous round which shows how good they are.

“Mainly, we try to focus on ourselves and what we can do to get the best result possible.”
