NPFL Season Kicks Off December 17

The new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season will kick-off on Friday, December 17.

The League Management Company has released matchday one fixtures.

Champions Akwa United will play Kano Pillars, while returnees Gombe United and Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan will square up at the Patanmi stadium in Gombe.

Lobi Stars will host Rivers United at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi while Enyimba FC and Abia Warriors settle scores in Aba for the season’s first Oriental derby.

Rangers international of Enugu will take a long trip to Katsina United for their first match of the season.

Niger Tornadoes will welcome Plateau United to their Minna home ground and Sunshine Stars will face their former managers Kabiru Dogo and Fuad Ekelojuoti at the Akure Stadium when Wikki United come to town.

Another matchday one fixture will see Kwara United host Dakkada in Ilorin. while the Olukoya boys MFM FC will host regional rivals Remo Stars at the Agege Stadium.

Nasarawa United will travel to Owerri to face Heartland for the last game of the opening weekend.
