Gbenga Ogunbote is back at NPFL side 3SC of Ibadan as their new coach, he was unveiled yesterday to begin his third spell in charge of the Oluwole Warriors, Megasportsarena.com reports.
“Shooting Stars is one of the best club in Nigeria with rich histories and wonderful traditional. I’ve been here before and I don’t think I have problems during my last two appointments. I think when you did very well, people will want you back.” He said during his unveiling at the Lekan Salami stadium.
“My appointment this third time is to ensure Shooting Stars return to her winning ways and put smiles on the faces of all lovers of the club.
“To the glory of God, I’ve delivered continental ticket to six clubs and rescued three teams from relegation. I can only say Shooting Stars will end up in a appreciable position this coming season.” Ogunbote added.
He led Remo Stars to a 3rd place in the NPFL last season.
In the past six years (2016-2022), Gbenga Ogunbote has been at Giwa FC, Shooting Stars, Enyimba, Enugu Rangers, Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars, Remo Stars and now Shooting Stars.
Meanwhile, John Dosu also joins Shooting Stars as the new goalkeepers’ trainer. The former MFM FC trainer teams up with Ogunbote for the new season.
The immediate past coach of the Ibadan club, Edith Agoye, was also unveiled as the new manager of Sunshine Stars of Akure same yesterday.
