Ndidi Yet To Fully Recover From Tight Hamstring, Doubtful Versus Liverpool

Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi is in a race against time to be fit for his side’s last match of 2021, as he is still nursing a tight hamstring that ruled him out of The Foxes’ last match, megasportsarena.com reports.

Ndidi was left on The Foxes’ bench for all 90 minutes of Monday’s game against Manchester City, which his side lost 6-3 at Etihad Stadium, as his gaffer, Brendan Rodgers thought it wise to give the player so time out.

However, Rodgers has admitted that Ndidi, who was involved in ten matches contested by Leicester across all competitions before the trip to Etihad Stadium, nine of which he started, is still going through his recovery process, which means he is still cast in doubt for Tuesday’s game.

The gaffer is, however, also keeping his fingers on the availability of Ndidi for the clash with Liverpool, but equally admitted that being overused contributed to the player’s hamstring injury, even as he hopes to see the defensive midfielder involved in the game to an extent.

Rodgers expatiated: “We couldn’t risk Vards or Wilf. They had hamstring issues from the game the other day, so we put them on the bench, but we knew we weren’t really going to be able to use them. It was too big a risk.

“They were suffering with tightness. Wilf has played a lot of football for us. He hasn’t had the chance to rest, so his hamstring is a little bit tight.  Hopefully, they’ll be fine and recovered for Tuesday’s game.”
