Sadiq Umar opened his La Liga goals account in spectacular fashion on Monday with an exquisite header in Almeria’s 1-1 away draw against Elche at the Martínez Valero Stadium.
The Nigerian striker has been a subject of intense transfer speculations in Spain with Villarreal and Getafe said to be interested in him, but no request has been tabled by any of these clubs.
Sadiq got Almería in front in the 23rd minute, nodding home perfectly from a corner kick.
Elche however equalizer seven minutes later through an astonishing string of passes that set up Collado to strike the ball to the bottom corner of the net beyond the goalkeeper’s reach.
Almeria were reduced to ten men in the 32nd minute after Centelles was red carded for a serious foul play.
Both teams created more chances but neither could put the ball in the net and the game ended 1-1.
