Perugia of Italy midfielder, Kingsley Michael is set to arrive at Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles’ camp in Germany this Sunday, as he joins the fight for shirts in the squad to the FIFA U-20 World Cup, megasportsarena.com can report.
Coach of the side, Paul Aigbogun is already stepping up his efforts ahead of the Youth Mundial, billed for this month in Poland and, though he sent seven foreign-based players packing on Thursday, the gaffer is ready to welcome Michael on Sunday.
This is sequel to an agreement earlier reached with the former Golden Eaglets invitee, who is loan from Bologna, and was allowed to stay back longer at Perugia to help them in their push for a promotion playoff spot.
However, with only one game to end their campaign in Serie B, Michael has been granted permission by Bologna to join Aigbogun’s team this weekend, as he seeks to take one step further than fellow-ex-Eaglets’ star, Orji Okonkwo, who has dropped down at the second-tier club.
Michael will consequently play his last match of the season for Perugia against Cremonese on Saturday, then join Aigbogun’s team the day after, in preparation for Poland 2019, in which Nigeria will play their first game against Qatar on May 24th.
