Japan Unveil Team For Nigeria Friendly

Japan head coach Futoshi Ikeda has made public his 25 players for the friendly match with the Super Falcons of Nigeria billed for Noevir Stadium, Kobe on Thursday, October 6.

A number of players plying their trade abroad were in the squad including West Ham United duo, Risa Shimizu and Honoka Hayashi.

Roma defender Moeka Minami, North Carolina’s Fuka Nagano and Hana Takahashi, who plays for Urawa Reds Ladies were also included in the squad.

The game will be the fourth meeting between both countries.

The Super Falcons defeated Japan 1-0 in their first ever meeting at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Two back-to-back friendlies in 2013 were won 2-0 by the Nadeshiko.

The Super Falcons have lost their last four international games, while Nadeshiko are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions.
