SC Paderborn of Germany defender, Jamilu Collins has declared that he and his teammates are fully motivated to go out for victory in their first match back in the top-flight German Bundesliga, following their victory in the DFB Pokal last weekend, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although his newly promoted side could only edge lower division side, Rodinghausen via penalties in the German Cup encounter, Collins, who played a an extra time substitute in the match and scored one of the resultant penalties, says they have the right motivation with which to tango Bayern Leverkusen this weekend.
Even as Saturday’s league game against Leverkusen looms large, which will be his debut in the Bundesliga, Collins expressed delight in helping Paderborn qualify to the next round of the German FA Cup with a 2-4 win via penalties, after the game tied at 3-3.
The 25-year-old left-back got off Paderborn’s bench in the 111th minute of extra time and scored his own kick to help his side move into the next round of the competition, which he says further boosted his confidence.
Collins declared with glee: “I’m happy we have started our season with an important win. We will go on to motivate ourselves with these with plenty more tough games ahead.”
