Isaac Success Insists He’s 20, Parries Controversy Over His Age

Udinese of Italy striker, Isaac Success has parried raging controversy over his age, as he insists he is 26 years old and reckoned that people think he is older because of his muscular physic, megasportsarena.com reports.

While also pointing out that he hit international limelight pretty early in his career, the barging attacker with four senior caps for Nigeria added that he is still playing top level football because he is just in his prime.

This is despite the fact that he ended his five-year association with Watford of England last summer and rejoined Udinese, which happened to be his first club in Europe, who he moved the in 2013 from BJ Foundation of Benin City.

That was few months after he first came into prominence at the 2013 FIFA U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he won the top scorer’s award with seven goals.

He was tipped to excel at the FIFA U-17 World Cup same year in United Arab Emirates, but he copped an injury in the Golden Eaglets’ second group match versus Sweden and the focus shifted to Kelechi Iheanacho.

The all-action attacker was then signed by Udinese for 400, 000 euros, but later loaned to Granada of Spain, before moving on to Watford, all of which he believes makes football followers think he is advanced in age.

In his second stint with Udinese, Success has not done badly, with two goals and five assists in 17 outings, plus nine of those appearances off the bench in the Italian Serie A.

Success told Estadio Deportivo: People always think I’m older, but I’m the last of my brothers.

“I started playing very early, also with the national team in 2013, at the U-17 World Cup in Dubai.

“I started very young, but I have a big and strong body, that’s why people think I look like I’m 30 years old.”
