Fiabema On Course To Battle Onyeka In Chelsea’s Carabao Cup Tie

Chelsea of England youngster, Bryan Fiabema has been listed among the array of youngsters set to line out for The Blues against Frank Ogochukwu Onyeka’s Brentford Town in this week’s EFL Carabao Cup fixture.

Megasportsarena.com gathered that Fiabema and the other kids from Stamford Bridge have been called up to The Blues’ senior squad due to the absences of several key players that have been ruled out by coronavirus infections.

The stage is now set for the Nigerian-born striker and his colleagues to try themselves out against The Bees on Wednesday, with the game coming at a point Onyeka’s squad are riding high in the English Premier League.

Although it is only Brentford’s first ever season in the top-flight, Onyeka and his teammates have caused several ripples and shocks, such that playing against Chelsea’s youngsters could be a stroll in the park for them.

However, Chelsea’s coach, Thomas Tuchel knows that his hands are tied on this one, as several of his key players are facing covid-10 protocols, hence the need to turn to Fiabema and a couple of others that are currently doing well in their youth ranks.

A report by sportsmole.com added: “Thomas Tuchel has taken the opportunity to take a look at a number of Chelsea’s academy players.

“The Blues have at least six players who will be absent for Wednesday’s EFL Cup tie at Brentford due to coronavirus, with several other players said to be nursing injuries.

“While Jorginho made a welcome return to training on Monday after his coronavirus status remained inconclusive, Tuchel took the chance to assess many of the club’s prospects.

“As well as Harvey Vale, which was confirmed by the club’s official Twitter page, Goal journalist Nizaar Kinsella revealed that nine other players were present.

“Josh Brooking, Alfie Gilchrist, Dion Rankine, Xavier Simons, Josh Brooking, Jay Wareham, Bryan Fiabema, Lewis Baker and Xavier Mbuyamba are all seemingly in contention for the fixture versus the Bees.

“The fixture now appears likely to go ahead with the Premier League and EFL announcing a desire to continue with fixtures as they are currently scheduled.”
