Super Falcons players are at daggers drawn with the Nigeria Football Federation over unpaid bonuses/allowances.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the players who are scheduled to play their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations third-place play-off match against Zambia on Friday refused to train on Wednesday evening.
The players have not been paid their allowances or bonus of over $10,000 for the wins over Botswana, Burundi and Cameroon.
The players boycotted training on Wednesday evening, prompting the NFF to act swiftly in order to prevent another strike before the match against Zambia on Friday.
The NFF are perennial debtors to all the national teams and this is not stopping anytime soon.
The Super Falcons embarked on similar protests in the past, protesting unpaid bonuses after their exit from the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, when they refused to leave their hotel demanding that their unpaid bonuses from 2016 be settled.
