Senegal soccer legend, Khalilou Fadiga has issued a strong prediction that his country will face Nigeria in the final of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, he believes they both have the best players heading to the continental soccer showpiece in less than two weeks.
Fadiga, who excelled during his playing days with clubs in France, Italy, Belgium and England, said ahead of this Sunday’s international friendly between both countries that the cutting edge going for the Super Eagles and Teranga Lions is that they both have squads of very young players.
Fadiga’s early clubs included PSG Academy and Red Star 93 FC of France, Royal Liège, Lommel and Club Brugge of Belgium as well as AJ Auxerre of France, added during Mega Sports on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos that the top notch quality that Nigeria and Senegal are taking to Egypt 2019 show that they are both capable of going all the way to the final.
The Senegalese soccer icon, who moved to France when he was six years old, and later went on to star for Inter Milan of Italy, Bolton Wanderers, Derby County and Coventry City of England as well as AA Gent, Germinal Beerschot and KSV Temse of Belgium, was, however, silent on which of his potential tips for the Egypt 2019 final would eventually carry the day.
“I hope, in the end, that it will be Senegal and Nigeria in the final. You never can tell, I don’t know, but both teams have young players.
“They are both good teams and they are currently rated one and three in Africa. I believe they can meet in the last match,” Fadiga submitted.
