Everton were among a host of European clubs to send scouts to Portugal to watch Zaidu Sanusi in the fiercely-competed FC Porto v Sporting game on Saturday, according reports monitored by Megasportsarena.com.
The Nigerian defender has been on the radar of the Toffees for some time now but they’ve not been able to convince Porto to do a deal with them.
Left-back Zaidu Sanusi was also a player that Everton were keen on signing although they would face competition from Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brighton.
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona were also among those with representatives in attendance as Porto ran out 3-0 winners in one of the biggest games outside of the top five leagues.
Sanusi, who is a long term target for Everton, played his part in the important victory.
