Watford of England midfielder, Peter Oghenekaro Etebo has received a massive boost in his aspirations for a return to action this month, as an expert in injuries has confirmed that the battler’s recovery is moving ahead of schedule.

Megasportsarena.com reports that there is a strong hint that he might even return to action this weekend against Burnley in the English Premier League, ahead of which a strong pointer is indicating better days ahead of him with The Hornets.

This is the verdict of, who added that the arrival of Roy Hodgson at The Hornets’ new coach could also boost Etebo’s chances of returning to the club’s starting 11, considering the gaffer’s favoured tactical formations.

Such is the positive outlook being provided by Ben Dinnery, while analysing physiological and technical aspects of the expected impact Etebo should have, once he gets back into the mainframe at Vicarage Road.

This verdict comes amidst hints that Etebo could make an appearance off the bench for Watford against Burnley in their rescheduled game now to be played Saturday, as it was one of several games that suffered postponements due to Coronavirus positive cases.

Etebo’s likely return to full fitness has received keen attention from Dinnery, who runs a site known as Premier Injuries and has a renowned background in medicine as well as data analysis of injuries among sports stars.

His analysis is now preceding the expectation of better days ahead of Etebo, who featured in all of his club’s six opening EPL games before he copped a knock that required surgery and forced him to miss Nigeria’s outing at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Dinnery told Football Insider: “Maybe the arrival of Hodgson can benefit Peter Etebo. He has looked historically towards a 4-2-3-1, and Etebo would fit nicely in that midfield.

“There are a big number of first-team squad players at his disposal, so there isn’t any pressure to rush him back.

“In theory, if he’s coming through with these sessions without any issues, it’s just a case of building that baseline fitness and sharpness.

“I definitely wouldn’t expect him to start again Burnley. But minutes from the bench are a possibility.

“In mid to late February, he will be approaching peak levels of fitness. He’s slightly ahead of schedule.

“This is one where he’ll be assessed on a daily basis to see how he competes with the team. It’ll be a big boost for him to be back in training again.”
