Nigerian-born United States of America national team star, Daryl Dike could be on his way to either Crystal Palace or West Bromwich Albion of England in the January transfer window.
This is sequel to emerging reports out of Queensland indicating that both clubs are in the race to have the former Barnsley hitman return to playing in the English league.
Megasportsarena.com reports that he made his mark last term in the English Championship with Barnsley, but could now become the next player of Nigerian decent to star for either Palace or West Brom.
The Eagles, who gave Victor Moses his breakthrough several years ago, currently have the duo of Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze on their cards, while Semi Ajayi is still rolling with The Baggies.
A report out of God’s Own Country has now revealed permutations that could tilt Dike towards either Selhurst Park or The Hawthorns, as he goes one step further than his older brother, Bright Dike, who had some caps with the Super Eagles.
Yahoo Sports added: “Dike had a dynamite loan to Barnsley last season, but a reportedly eye-popping price tag placed on him by Orlando City likely led to his 2021 staying in Florida.
“Dike, 21, could be back in England in January but there are some hefty conditionals on two possible destinations.
“West Bromwich Albion reportedly wants Dike but is insisting on a loan according to The Athletic’s Steve Madeley; something Orlando may not be happy to do for a second time, while Crystal Palace has rekindled interest in the youngster.
“While Palace boss Patrick Vieira will have a good read on Dike from his contacts in MLS, a report says that Palace would need to sell a striker in order to sanction the outlay for Dike.
“Palace bought Odsonne Edouard this summer and has Christian Benteke in the fold as well as Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha.”
