Bayern Munich of Germany defender, David Olatokunbo Alaba could be on his way to Manchester City of England tsd summer, should a deal being lined up his club officials see the light of day, megasportsarena.com gathered.
Although the Nigerian-born lad had all along been tipped with a deal at Chelsea, it appears The Blues’ English Premier League rivals could be the ones to welcome Alaba instead.
This is sequel to reports out of Bavaria that Bayern have proposed a swap deal that would see Alaba move to Etihad Stadium in place of Man City’s German winger, Leroy Sane, who the German Bundesliga champions have eyed for a long while and he has regularly been linked with a deal at Allianz Arena.
A report by respected German newspaper, BILD indicates that Bayern have suggested a swap deal that would see Alaba, who is a versatile Austria international and captain, head to Etihad and Sane go the other way at the end of this season.
It as gathered further that Alaba’s agent, Pini Zahavi touted the idea to City, who have now reportedly taken the offer into keen consideration, as the 27-year-old Nigerian-born lad’s contract with Bayern will end in 2021.
Although Alaba would prefer a move to Spain if he is not offered an extension in Munich, he could be tempted to join City instead, even as LaLiga giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be interested in the left-back.
Incidentally, Sane also has a deal with The Citizens running until the summer of 2021 and they run the risk of losing the former Borussia Dortmund of Germany youngster for free if he does not pen fresh terms this summer, as he would enter the final year of his terms.
While the winger has only made one appearance for City this season, which ame in the Community Shield back in August, and has missed the rest of the campaign with a ruptured cruciate ligament Alaba has featured regularly for Bayern, scoring one goal in 28 appearances across all competitions.
