Feyernoord of Netherlands striker, Cyriel Dessers has received yet another round of favourable recommendations, following another sterling show with his club in the Dutch Eredivisie, megasportsarena.com reports.
The former Heracles Almelo of Netherlands hitman, who is currently on loan from Racing Genk of Belgium, has rediscovered his goal banging form, after retracing his country back to the Dutch nation.
In contrast with how he struggled for from during just one season at Genk, where he was overshadow by fellow-Super Eagles’ attacker, Paul Ebere Onuachu, the Belgium-born ace is back firing on all cylinders.
In the wake of Dessers’ latest heroics, Dutch coaching veteran, Aad de Mos has urged Feyenoord to offer the in-form striker a permanent deal at the end of this season.
With Dessers, who has a Belgian father and Nigerian mother, having joined the Eredivisie side on loan from Genk in the summer, with an option to buy set at four million euros included, de Mos reckons that the star now deserves a full contract.
Indeed, Dutch Eredivisie observers are unanimous that Dessers has exceeded expectations at Feyenoord, with 15 goals in 34 matches across all competitions, the 27-year-old lad has defied odds that do not guarantee him a starting spot.
Having also done well in the UEFA Europa Conference League, with his haul of eight goals much better than any other player in the competition, de Mos says it is not a matter of luck, but good form.
The wizened tactician went on to state pointedly that Feyenoord should simply buy Dessers outright, instead of pursuing their reported summer move for Ajax Amsterdam’s Brazilian striker, Danilo, who is out of contract in June.
De Mos said on ESPN: “Dessers is a certainty. It is not casino luck, he all makes beautiful goals. No ticks or penalties.
“That combination just works well. You can’t get rid of Dessers if you win the Conference League, you can’t do that to your fans. Better than Danilo.”
