Cyriel Dessers is no longer comfortable with his lack of playing time at Feyenoord Rotterdam after seeing just thirty minutes of action in his club’s 3-3 thriller against Slavia Prague in the first leg of their Europa Conference League quarterfinal tie, Megasportsarena.com reports.
Dessers assisted Feyenoord’s second goal and feels he should be getting more minutes because of his performance.
“I thought yesterday that I would have the confidence of the coach (Arne Slot) and that I would play,” Dessers told Het Laatste Nieuws as per Voetbalkrant.
“I only heard after the press conference that I would not start.
“I just really want to go to the semi-finals, and I always put the team above the individual. Of course, I want to do even better myself, but I’m not Thierry Henry.
“But certainly, in European competitions, my worth has been proven.”
The Nigerian international has scored twelve times and assisted four in 31 appearances and has six goals and two assists in nine appearances in the Europa Conference League despite starting just three games in the competition.
