Villarreal of Spain in-form winger, Samuel Chukwueze has appealed to his fans and all Nigerians to continue praying hard for him and the Super Eagles, in order for the team to emerge victorious this Sunday against Algeria, in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, megasportsarena.com reports.
Chukwueze admitted he is still thrilled with his first international senior goal and man of the match award against South Africa in Wednesday’s quarter-final clash, but added that he and his Eagles’ teammates must not relax, saying the need to work harder to beat Algeria as well.
The Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist went on to confess that he is already excited with the prospect of playing in the AFCON 2019 final next Friday, but admitted he and his colleagues have to scale the Algerian hurdle first this Sunday.
With his eyes already on ‘The Promised Land’ at the same venue next weekend, The Yellow Submarine whiz-kid added that the Eagles need total support and backing from their fans all across the world, because Sunday’s game will not be a stroll in the park.
He, however, pledged further that he and other players in the Eagles’ squad will go the extra mile in their efforts to make their fans happy, which he knows will only be possible once they beat Algeria on Sunday and reach the final of AFCON 2019, then gun for Nigeria’s fourth title.
Chukwueze stressed: “It will be a very tough game. It means we have to work harder because of the task ahead of us.
“I want my fans and all Nigerians to continue praying for us. We need them to continue supporting us, because we want to make them happy.”
