Arsenal of England youth team player, Folarin Balogun is attracting January transfer from Ac Milan of Italy, even as a similar offer has also come his way from English lower division side, Brentford, who tango Leicester City this weekend in the FA Cup, megasportsarena.com reports.
Heading into their cracker with Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho on Saturday, Brentford were thinking positively of a deal for Balogun, who continues making waves in the youth sector at Emirates Stadium, but the Nigerian-born youngster could be tempted to head for Milan instead.
This is sequel to reports out of The Land of The Azurri indicating that La Rosoneri, who have a long tradition with Nigerian players, dating back to the days of Taribo West, Aliyu Datti Mohammed, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Harmony Ikande, Seyi Adeleke and Ezekiel Henty, are very keen on a deal for the fast-rising striker.
However, a report by Daily Mail adds that Brentford have had an earlier bid of £5m plus add-ons rejected by Arsenal, as The Gunners appear keen on either keeping Balogun or getting a huge fee off his transfer, even if it would be a loan deal for the first instance.
Dramatically, barely had Brentford recovered from the shock of their offer rejected soundly by The Gunners than the English Championship promotion hopefuls found out that they are now facing shock competition for the 18-year-old Balogun’s signature from Milan.
With the Serie A side scouring the market as they target young English talent, their searchlight has fallen on the prolific England under-18 national team striker, who has recently achieved two prolific seasons at youth level for Arsenal, with 28 goals in 28 games last season, including 25 in less than 19 matches for The Gunners’ under-18 squad.
