Glasgow Rangers of Scotland midfielder, Joe Ayodele Aribo has been rated the Scottish Premiership club’s most outstanding player so far this season and tipped to do even better in the coming days, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is the verdict of a former captain of the current Scottish double champions, Barry Ferguson, who said he considers Aribo in a class ahead of The Gers’ other top players like Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Glen Kamara and James Tavernier.
Ferguson noted that the Super Eagles’ star has had another good start to the season, with five goals and three assists from 16 games already hogging stats sheets and drawing keen transfer interest from clubs in England.
Speculation is already rife that the former Charlton Athletic of England sensation could be on his way to the English Premier League next year, as he enters the last 18 months of his contract with Rangers in January.
Most cogently, heading into the winter transfer spree, interest is already coming his way from Watford, Brentford and Crystal Palace, all of which Ferguson admitted it not misplaced, as he noted that Aribo has also played a significant role in Rangers’ campaign in the Europa League.
Having started every single game, en route to booking their place in the knockout stage, Aribo has contributed immense to The Gers’ strides so far this term and Ferguson is quick to name him atop the rundown of top players that making things click with his former club.
Ferguson said on Go Radio Football Show: “The Rangers support go on about Morelos, Kent and so on, and rightly so, as they are big players for Rangers but, for me, Joe Aribo is the outstanding player for Rangers
“I thought he was really good for Rangers last year and I think he has gone up levels this season. He has been Rangers’ best player by a country mile; there is no doubt about it.”
