Glasgow Rangers of Scotland midfielder, Joe Aribo is facing a dilemma of choice heading into the January transfer window, as the English Premier League trio of Burnley, Aston Villa and Southampton are reportedly keen on signing him, megasportsarena.com reports.
While many observers would believe he would love to join his former Gers’ coach, Steven Gerrard at Villa Park, Southampton appear to be edging ahead of The Villans and Burnley in the race to hook the former Charlton Athletic of England dazzler.
Such it was that The Saints had a scout in attendance during Rangers’ most recent Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United to check over the Super Eagles’ dazzler.
A report by British newspaper, Daily Record added: “The Saints have received glowing reports about Aribo and have to move quickly to tie up a deal for the versatile midfielder as they face competition for his signature.
“Aribo, who was walking a disciplinary tightrope having accumulated five cautions in previous matches, initially started the game on the bench and was introduced in the 64th minute with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team in search of the opening goal.
“Burnley and Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are also interested in the 25-year-old. Watford, Brentford and Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest in the former Charlton Athletic man.”
