Super Eagles’ ex-assistant coach, Fatai Folorunsho Amoo has prof erred some tips on how the team can beat Algeria in Sunday’s semi-final at the Africa Cup of Nations, saying the Nigerian squad just need to step up their efforts and do the needful.
The soft-spoken tactician, who is fondly called ‘Arsenal’ by admirers, stressed that Sunday’s match in Cairo, Egypt will be very tricky, but urged the Eagles to keep their heads all through.
He added during Mega Sports on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos that the Nigerian players should achieve a balance between respect and belief in order to win, as he says they should not underrate nor overrate their foes.
The former First Bank FC of Lagos, Sunshine Stars of Akure, Shooting Stars of Ibadan and Enyimba of Aba handler concluded with a verdict that the Eagles should be able to carry the day on Sunday and reach the July 19 final, especially as they have improved with each passing fixture.
Amoo reasoned: “It will be a very dicey, tricky and tough game. It will be 50-50 kinds of, but I believe we can win the game.
“Thank God that our boys are back to form. They have improved with every game they have played so far in Egypt, but they have to step up.
“They should not underrate the Algerians, or even overate them. They should just do the needful on Sunday and we will reach the final.”
