Alex Iwobi was clearly Everton’s best player on the pitch once again as they rallied to a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, Megasportsarena.com reports.
The Nigerian midfielder, who scored 8/10 in the rating of the Toffees in the match, was ever-present for Frank Lampard’s side, whether that’s making 70-yard runs to track back and stop a Forest attack or by threading intricate through-balls to his teammates.
Iwobi was even was so close to bagging what would have been the winner with a curled effort onto the roof of the net at the end as well.
Demarai Gray’s late effort ensured Everton drew the game. Gray coolly converted after getting on the end of a long ball upfield by goalkeeper Pickford.
It was however disappointing for the club fans that Everton couldn’t secure their first win of the season, but in the end it was relief they avoided three straight defeats at the start of a campaign for what would have been the first time since 1990.
