Nigeria’s female cadet national team, Flamingos will return to camp on Monday in Abuja, as coach of the side, Bankole Olowookere has called up 35 players to begin preparations for next month’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Democratic Republic of Congo.
It will be a return to action after a long lay off for The Flamingos, who started this qualifying campaign two years ago by defeating Guinea home and away, before the coronavirus pandemic compelled world football governing body, FIFA to cancel the 2020 competition.
However, megasportsarena.com gathered that, just like it has done with the U20 Women’s World Cup, FIFA has retained the India as the designated host nation for the 2022 championship, which will now hold from October 11th-30th.
Consequently, The Flamingos will start their campaign away to the under-17 girls of DR Congo in Kinshasa on 6th March, while the reverse fixture is scheduled for Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, 19th March.
