£60m Or No Deal For Umar Sadiq: Almeria Tells Newcastle

0

Newcastle will be getting out the chequebook in the new year and Almeria’s Nigerian striker, Umar Sadiq is the latest name linked with the Magpies.

The Segunda Division side reportedly want the Premier League club to triple the £18million valuation of the Nigerian number nine.

Newcastle’s newfound wealth has seen a whole host of players linked with the task of joining in January and keeping the Magpies in the Premier League.

Umar Sadiq of Almeria has previously been linked with a move to Tyneside, but the Andalusian club have been stubborn in negotiations – with the club reportedly not budging from his £60million price tag.

Sadiq moved to Almeria from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2020 after a prolific spell in Serbia with 23 goals in 52 games.

Having been somewhat of a journeyman throughout his career – clocking up loan spells at Bologna, Torino, Rangers and Partizan themselves whilst he was on the books at Roma – it became clear that Sadiq would have to find a permanent home before he started firing.

That came at Partizan, where his talents saw him earn a move to Almeria – and with 27 league goals in just 56 games for the Almeriensistas, Sadiq has increased his reputation across Europe.

Newcastle have been credited with an interest in the Nigerian International, alongside Spanish powerhouses Barcelona.
