Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) is blowing hot about his team’s chances of escaping relegation back to the Italian Serie B, as he is blowing hot about their chances of staying up in the top-flight at the end of the current campaign, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although the Italian Serie A table does not look pretty at all for Crotone, ‘Simy’ insists they can bell the cat and stressed that he remains confident that the struggling side can shock critics by staying up, despite facing a difficult campaign that has seen them earn just three wins so far.
The 28-year-old former Portimonense of Portugal attacker, who has been Crotone’s standout player this campaign, added that all members of the team are putting in a lot of hard work, while also exuding a lot of determination and total focus in their quest for survival.
The tall striker, who has four caps with the Super Eagles, concluded by admitting that the Italian Serie A is a very competitive league, but adds that nothing will stop him and his colleagues from saving Crotone, in what has been a massive test for him in the high-profile league.
Simy submitted: “Our chances are very bright; we just have to continue believing in the good work we are doing as we’ve been playing good football not minding our limitations we keep faith in our games. So, I am very positive we will finish the season well.
“Last year was really difficult with all the strange and unwanted happenings around the globe. Loss of lives and everything, then playing football in empty stadiums. It really was a tough year but we can only hope on coming out stronger.”
