SSC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen is back at his former base in Belgium, as he receives specialized medical attention from doctors at Sporting Charleroi over his problematic shoulder, megasportsarena.com reports.
The former VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, Charleroi of Belgium and Lille Metropole of France striker has been seeking healing over a shoulder dislocation he copped during action with the Super Eagles in November but, with the injury failing to heal as quickly as desired, he has returned to one of his erstwhile hunting grounds for a remedy.
Information on offer out of Belgium indicates that the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer and gold medalist is now going under the expert scrutiny of Charleroi’s medics, as the experts work with Belgium’s national team physiotherapist, Lieven Maesschalck.
The experience physio, who previously helped Osimhen’s new pal at Napoli, Dries Mertens, has got down to the brass tacks of getting the youngster back into shape, but this means the lad will not be in action for Napoli before Christmas.
Osimhen last featured for Napoli on November 8, after he injured his shoulder during a 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Benin City and though he downplayed reports that Napoli blamed the worsened injury on poor handling of the case by the Super Eagles’ medical crew, everything is pointing in the direction of ineptitude on their part.
