Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi has received the nod to tango Brighton & Hove Albion this Wednesday in the English Premier League, following his recovery from a hamstring complaint, megasportsarena.com reports.
This much has been revealed by Leicester’s coach, Brendan Rodgers, who said he is excited with the recovery the former Racing Genk of Belgium midfielder has made and enthused that the star should be fit enough to tango The Seagulls.
This is sequel to close observation for the Super Eagles’ battler, as Ndidi returned to training at the start of this week and Rodgers hinted that the top-rated midfielder should be ready for the English FA Cup fifth-round clash on Wednesday night.
This is despite worries by observers that the 24-year-old Ndidi could be match-rusty, having missed The Foxes’ last three English Premier League games, after suffering a hamstring injury after just 42 minutes during a 1-1 draw away to Alex Iwobi’s Everton at Goodison Park.
Ndidi has featured 13 times for Leicester this term, with a single goal to his name, but Rodgers has now told Leicester Mercury that the Nath Boys FC of Lagos product could even start against Brighton this Wednesday at King Power Stadium.
Rodgers said: “Wilf will be back for Wednesday. We were thinking about this game but we just felt we didn’t want to risk him. He’s had a couple of really good days of training and he should be fit and ready for Wednesday.”
