Former Super Eagles’ fringe player and ex-Golden Eaglets’ defender, Gbenga Arokoyo is club hunting once again, after he was released earlier this week by Kalmar FF of Sweden, megasportsarena.com reports.
Despite his efforts in bring decent results for the former club of Abiola Dauda all through the season, Kalmar opted to release Arokoyo, after he had earlier been declared surplus to requirements by their coach.
The Swedish top-flight club officially confirmed their decision in midweek and went on to reveal that the central defender-cum-midfielder, who has previously played in Turkey and USA’s Major League Soccer (MLS), has since left their camp, despite admitting he helped them survive the recent relegation playoff.
This is another career setback for the former youth international, who joined Kalmar in 2018, but he has since been linked with a number of other Swedish clubs, after his most recent team did not extend his contract at the end of this past season.
